.. ENDED THEIR. LIVES. (By Telct:ra»h—l'rcsa Association.) Inyercarglll, July 29. Laurence Forde, farmer of Groper'a Bush, -was found dead in a paddock. A, bottle of strychnine was. discovered, in his pocket. John Hunter, ferryman of Riverton, suffering from mental derangement, strangled himself in the hospital early this morning. A JOCKEY'S DEATH. Christchurch, July 29. When competing in the Open Steeplechase at Rangiora. yesterday Ivan .came to grief, and seriously injured iris rider, R. Swinburn. The unfortunate horseman had his head badly injured. He was removed to a private hospital, buA died to-day.
