The Democratic State Convention, sitting at Grand Island, Nebraska, defeated Mr. W. J. Bryan's amendment against limiting the debate to certain resolutions. This has shut out Mr. Bryan's speech in 'support of country option on the sale of liquor, and marks his downfall as Demo-cratic-leader in his own State.
