SCHOOLS OF THE EMPIRE MATCH, Details of the results of the schools of the Empire shooting competitions for 1909-1910 are to hand. In all 99 schools entered for the competition, ten less than tho number for thb previous year. Two of these were disqualified, seven withdrew, while iu tho case of four others the target registers arrived tod late. New Zealand was represented b> . fourteen schools, India by tour, South Africa by eleven, West Indies by one, Canada by two, British Guiana by one, Australia by sixteen, and Great Britain by thirtyseven. Tho competition for tho Prince of Wales Cup was a seven-shot contest at 200 and 500 yards. A silver medal was also presented to each member of the winning team. The honours were carried off by Bradfield College, England, with an aggregate score of 604 points, or an average aggregate of 63 points. The teams, were composed of eight men_each, so that tho possible aggregate scoro was SGO. Nelson College came sixth iu the order of merit witji po'iit", mi ivi-i----age of (51.75 per man. The places'awarded to tho other New Zealand schools in the order of merit was as followWaitaki Boys' High School (ISth), -182; Otago Boys' High School (30th), 4G9; Wellington College (31th), 4G5; King's College, Auckland (40 th), 456; Wanganui College (42nd), 454; Marlborough High School (52nd), 427; Christchurch Boys' High School (s'itli), tU; Christ College (Christchurch) Grammar School (56th), 414; St. John's Collegiate School, Auckland (59th), 4C9; l'almerston North High School (02nd), 391. Tho. best individual score, OS points, was made by a New Zealander, Lieut. E. A. Scott, Otago Boys' High School. In the junior competition, tho "Schools if the Empire Cadet Hatch," the first prizt, was the Natal Shield, won by the Piotermaritzburg boys with a score of 475 points. The Auckland Grammar School team came eleventh in the order of merit with 401 points Sixteen schools competed, New Zealand being represented by one onbz.
