The baronletcr was lowest in tho far ■ north on Saturday. afternoon, but rose steadily afterwards with hcivy rain and cold southerly winds. The barometer has, however, fallen since then in the south, and very wintry weather has been experienced in the' South Island. Present indications are for...a further ri6c, but slowly in tho north, and the • barometer lias a falling tendency 'in the south. Moderate to strong southerly winds will probably prevail northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and strong westerly winds elsewhere. Damp aud cold weather is probable generally. D. C. BATES. • Meteorological Office, Wellington, July. 25,. 1910..
