MAEEEE DTJE TO-DAY. ' Thia morning, the Tyscr liner Marero is due from London, via Australian ports, Auckland, and Napier. The local agents insert a notice to consignees of cargo by tho vessel. . , THE ABAHUEA. A' telegram received by the Union Company states that the Arahura- arrived at Greymouth at 9 a.m. yesterday, and' was fixed to sail at 10 p.m. on the return journey to Westport, Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. Sho is due here to-morrow night. THE EAICAIA. It is expected that the Eakaia, which is inaugurating the New . Zealand Shipping Company's Eastern Canadian service, wilt arrive in Wellington early next week. At the present time, the vessel is on the way from Sydney to Auckland.
KIMUTAKALEFT HOBART. A cablegram received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the R.M.S. Rimutaka, bound from London to New Zealand ports, left .Hobart for Wellington at 6 a.m. yesterday. She is expected to reach here next Friday . afternoon.
STEATHOLYDE AT MELBOCENE. . Messrs. Dalgety and Co., local agents for the TJ.S. and A.S. Line, have received a cablegram stating that the Strathclyde arrived at Melbourne on Sunday from New York. After- calling at Sydney and Auckland, the vessel is due at Wellington on August 15. Mr. C. S. Broughton has rejoined the Pateena as purser, and Mr. E. Menzies has transferred from the Pateena to tho Taviuni. Mr. F. Dinsmore has joined the Tarawera as third officer iu place of Mr. E. F. Watson: Mr. D. W. Binnie is now' third engineer of tho Tarawera, Mr. T. 11. Murray having signed off. On Friday next, the Knitangata is duo here from Westport with a lond of coal. The Wairuha is to leave Westport to-da> for Auckland. Among the.expected arrivals this morn, ing is the Union Company's chartereo Steamer Wakefield, from Auckland, with balance of coal cargo from Newcastle. When the vessel has' completed discharge she sails towards the end of the week for Newcastle to load' another cargo of coal for New Zealand ports. \ The Ennordale has left Timaru for Auckland.' ■ On completion of discharge at tho latter port she proceeds to Greymouth. The Holmdale is not now expected to arrive here from Hokiangn until Thursday morning. Sho will probably get away the game evening for Timaru. . According to advice received, the Tyser liner-Star of Scotland, which arrived at London on July 15 from' New Zealand ports, is timed to .sail from New. York on September 17 for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports. Tho directors :of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha have appointed Mr. It. Ncgishi acting-manager of the London branch office, in place of the late manager; Mr. T.. H. James, and Mr. James Blair haa been appointed assistant manager. After the scow Whangaroa discharges her cargo at Wellington, her owners have arranged for her to proceed in ballast to Mokau and ship a further cargo 'of pine for Sydney. This will be the first consignment of timber taken- to Sydney from that, port since the scow Moana—lost on tho New Zealand coast some timo agoloaded there. The . bnrqucntine Tolador has finished her charter to Messrs. Burns, Philp and Co., Ltd., and will shortly resume her running in the trade between Australia and New Zealand. Her first trip will be to Kaip'ara from Newcastle with coal, and after that has been discharged she will load pine for Sydney.
