The. speakers demanded the voting facilities provided in the Woman's Sufv frage Bill, introduced by Mr. D; J. Shackleton, tho second 'reading of which was carried by the House of Commons recently.', ■;',' ,'■ .' .,■ '- Tho. Shackleton Bill was drafted by a Conciliation Committee, composed of members of all parties. ■It provides :— 1. Every woman possessed of ■ a household qualification, or of a JBIO occupation qualification, shall be entitled to vote.. ~ > .2. Husband and wife shall not both be qualified in, respect of the same property. The J2lO qualification means that the elector must, occupy land or business premises of a clear ..yearly value of JSIO. Under the household • qualification every person is an' occupier who occupies ..a dwelling house, or part of a house, as a separate dwelling (even' only one room), provided the landlord docs not, as landlord, reside in the house.
