Sir Chas. Bowen was a passenger by the Maori, which left for Lyttelton last night. An Auckland Press Association telegram records the death of the Rev. D. W. Rtmciman, retired registrar of Auckland University College. Mr. James Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands, who has recently inspected various properties in the Was-, rarap'a ur.d Masterton districts,.'left on Friday on a visit to tho Rangitikei district. ' 'At All. Saints' CTiurth,' Palmerston North, on Sunday evening Archdeacon C. C; Harper * announced to the, congregation that he" had. been nominated to the parish of St. Peter's, Wellington, and that he had fcmsidercd.it his duty .to accept the nomination. Archdeacon Harper has been in Palmerston ten years, and during that period has several works in connection with tho Anglican Church including the establishment of All Saints', Children's' Home, and .the movement to build a new church in stone in Palmerston.
