Mr. Fisher, the Australian Premier, referring to Mr. Asquith's statement regarding preferential trade, adopted a non-committal attitude. The present flexibility of the relations of the Dominions with Great Britain on this question was, he said, tlie best safeguard for the integrity of the Empire. The Dominions should 'be left free to make their own tariff arrangements.
