The barometer has fallen everywhere, and especially in the north, and heavy rain has been experienced northward of Kaikoura and Hokitika. Strong southerly winds have predominated, Present indications are for very heavy rain in the North Island and northern parte of tho South Island, with floods in many parts, with cloudy and unsettled weather generally, A sharp rise in barometric pressure will probably take nlaoe to-morrow in the north, but n further fall is probable in the eouth, whoro the glass is very unsteady. Strong southerly winds will probably prevail. Office. July 22, 1910.
