.A meeting of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held yesterday afternoon at the rooms of the society in AVillis Street. Mrs. A. E. Atkinson presided, and there were also present Mesdames Hoby, Ponsonby, Glasson, Izard, and Corrigan,. and Miss Brown. The secretary reported a number of cases which were being dealt with, some of which were almost' settled, while others required further investigation. One case of neglect of a child requires' to be investigated further. The following subscriptions were acknowledged with thanks:—£s from Mrs. \V. Watson; 10s. Mr. M. Myers; ss. each from Mr. L. G. Reid, Mrs. E. Leckie, and Miss M'Lean.
