A north-easterly gale and heavy rain were experienced Jiorthward of Kawhia and East Cape on Wednesday. Rain and cold and misty weather.- have been reported elsewhere, with strong southerly winds. Conditions arc still threatening in the north, and south-easterly gales are reported at Capes Campbell and Spit this evening.
