MIRAMAR TRAMS.
THE SERVICE REDUCED. The fortnightly meeting of the Miramar Borough Council was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. J. Brodie), and Councillors M'Leod, Muir, Richards, Bowie, Bell, and M'Clelland. The principal business before the meeting was the consideration, in committee, of tho question of reducing the borough car service, and after a lengthy discussion the council decided to adopt tha recommendation of the Tramways Committee that the ordinary 40-minute service be continued up till 9 o'clock in the morning, and between 5 and 7 o'clock in the evening. During the day, and after 7 p.m., the service will be reduced by onehalf—an eighty-minute schedule being maintained, the reduced cars to run as far .as the junction only. Consideration was also given to the allocation of interest and street lighting on the Tramways Accounts, concerning which there has been some recent controversy. The Town Clerk was instructed to prepare a further statement with reference to the matter^ A. special meeting of the council will be held on Tuesday evening nest to consider the question, of a readjustment of car fares.
