-o———• ■ ■ The fourth annual under tho..auspices of the South. AVairarapa Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Asso- '• ! ciation, opens this afternoon in ' the' Agricultural Hall at. Carterton. The . ! society will have a fine . exhibition of ' ■ poultry, entries having come in iii large ' j numbers. .About 400 birds will be : penned, of which 250 are poultry, and the remainder pigeon and cage birds.. Working Homers aro the principal entries in pigeons, and competition in i some of the classes will, be very keen. ■ Among the. poultry classes, " leghorn, wj;andottes,. and orpingtons,. are the : chiefly-contested, in addition to the 'j utility classes. The birds, coming ; forward are considered to be some of the finest in the North Island," and among those showing are": Messrs. R. J. Chapman, C. R. P. Armstrong, E. B. Eagle, P. C. Anderson, H.
