Tho men of tho lower deck of H.M.S. Pioneer gave a "social" and dance in. the Alexandra Hall, Abel Smith Street, last oveuing, to friends who have helped to make their stay in Wellington a pleasurable one. The gathering was .an unqualified success, this being largely duo to tho efforts of Mr. H. Legg, R.W. (president), and ii committee consisting of Messrs. Johnson, Howe, Jeffries, Hughes, Stoker, Chapman, and Hamilton (secretary). . a
