■ •., — o .• BLAST-AND COUNTERBLAST, 'By Telceraph.—Special CorresoonrisnU Wangariul, July 19. The Wanganui Ediwatioii Board has received a letter from Messrs. Bell, (rully, Hell, and Myers, solicitors, Wellington, stating that they have been ■instructed, by the New Zealand Educational Institute to issue an originating summons to determine whether the board has the power to prohibit infants from attending the District High School, 'i'iie solicitors stated that, before issuing the summons, they wished to give the board an opportunity to consider the legal position, if it had not already dono so. Should the board decline „to consider the question, they asked whether -they should serve the summons on the board personally, or on its solicitors. The'board did not discuss the matter, and decided, simply to reply that its solicitors are Messrs. Marshall and Hutton, of Wangaiiui. A counterblast to the summons issued by the institute has besn sounded by a notice of motion given for the nest meetin" of the board:—That the school bo disrated, and its status removed to the Queen's Park School.
