MEEI. By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmorston, July 19. > The monthly meeting of the general .committee of the Manawatu A. and P. Association was held to-day, Mr. C. A. J. Levett presiding. Among tho correspondence was, a letter from the Hereford Breeders' Association, advising that 'the association will donate £20 towards securing the services of Mr. M'Cozmell or some other . approved . Australian breeder to '• judge Herefords at tho association's spring , show; also that the Hereford Associa- . tion would donate a piece of silver plate, valued at £5 55., for competition si the spring show for-the best two-year-old Hereford bullock.—Received with thanks. :' Mr. J. Kyle, president of tho Ayrshire Breeders' Associul/ioii, waited on the association, and stated that his association had decided to, give championship prizes for bull and cow for the North Island, under certain condi-. tions. They particularly desired that judges from the Ayrshire Association's list should be selected, and that South Island judges should be selected to oflciate in the North Island, -and vice versa. If the association would fall in with these views,-his society would give the gold medals at tho nest spring Bhow. All animals imported or entered in the Australian Herd- Book, would be eligible to compete for the Ayrshire Association prizes. It was decided to comply with the requests. Major Dunk said that it had been suggested that the platform and seating accommodation used for the milking machines at the dairy show should be left standing, and utilised for she'opehearing contests at, tho spring show. It was admirably adapted for this purpose, . ....... ; ( Mr. Balsillie pointed out that the' wool-classing competitions could bo carried out in the samo. building. It was decided to leave the platform as recommended. Mr. Lancaster pointed out that it Kas imperative that something should be done to the pig and sheep pens before the spring show, and the ground committee was asked to furnish a report on this question; ■ ■ Ninety-five new members were elected.
