Kain has fallen on the West Coa-st and southern districts of tho South Island, and the weather has boen B:>noraU> cold aud changeable. Present indications are for a falling baroiceier in the north, more hazy and cloudy skies preceding a rapid change in the weather from a storm area now advancing aeross the Tasman Sea.
