Mr. and Mrs. James Ewart came down from Masterton last' night to spend a few days in Wellington.' Miss Wolters and Miss Booth, from Carterton, are visiting Wellington. Mrs. J. Abbott gave a party at the rink last night. . Miss ,T. Wyinks is visiting her aunt, Mrs. C. W. Adams, Bellevue Road, Hutt. Mr. Rayward, president of the Wellington Arts Clvb, and Mrs. Rayward aro giving an "At .■ Home" at the Club on Saturday afternoon. The Victoria • College students intend holding their annual ball in the Town Hall on Thursday, August i. ■ Last season ' the students' ball was very popular •and it is rumoured that this year they are endeavouring to make it even more successful. ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Vavasour, from Blenheim, are staying at the Royal Oak. The -Mayoress", Mrs. T. M. Wilford, will be "At Home" on Wednesday week, and every succeeding Wednesday. There is so much to bo attended to after her trip to England that Mrs. Wilford cannot appoint an earlier day on which to receiva her friends',, hut will take this first opportunity next week. 1 All adult women in been granted municipal. suffx~ge.
