ANTHONY HOPE AGAIN.
"Helena's Path," the new comedy by Anthony Hope and Cosmo Gordon LeiiOi, which has just been produced at tllfi L)uke of Y.ork's Theatre, in London, seems to be a poetic and romantic trifle, whose literary and, imaginative qualities are insufficient to -atone for its litter lack 'of dramatic matter. It is all about a noble lord, an Admirable Crichton, who insisted upon his right of way through the garden of his fair neighbour, a lovely Marquosa, who resented his intrusion with scorn and sarcasm, but finally yielded to liis manly .attractions and magnificent wooing. He sent her an dpistle in a chariot and four with postillions. What charm • there ihay have been in this fantasy did not carry across the footlights, in spite .of the efforts of Irene Vanbrugh and others. , ,
