Asquith, replying to' a question put to him in the House of Commons'by Viscount Castlereagh, Conservative' member for Maidstone, said that German syndicates had resumed payment of bounties on exported manufactured articles, such as iron and steel. The German Government, as far as he was aware, was not associated" with the arrangement.
