".';■■".;'Thursday and Friday have been Wretched days for tho Dominion Dairy '■'Show, which is in progress in Hawera, ..Very heavy rains having fallen almost . continuously. . Nevertheless, largo 'crowds have attended'the show, and tho town has never before been so crowded.. £350 was takbn at the.door '-during: tho first two. days, and Satnr- '.' day's crowd is expected to bo a record. V ..A smoko concert'was tendered by the- '■■".' Show Company last night, and the function passed off very pleasantly. Today • the National \ Dairy Association held a meeting in the tbwu. Th© Minis-, :',:'ter for Agripulture lias forwarded a "telegram, complimenting the promoters 'on tho success of-"'tho" venture,, Speak•ing at the smoko concert, 'Mr.' A. M'Farlane,-chairman of ■ tho National * Dairy Association; said that the show had been a splendid surprise, and the, .manner in wliiCd^'the dairy produco had' been staged was : an eye-openor. At some shows the officials did not seem to.know how to stage it, but such had not been case at Hawera.
