IMPORTED CONSUMPTIVES.
Sir,—Could you or anyone else enlighten the people of the Dominion how so. many consumptives are allowed to land? Why, tho Cambridge Sanatorium is full of thorn; in one ward alone they outnumber the colonials by two to one and more. Sot only that, . but soino of-them have, been inmates of sanatoria at home and have had the disease over five years: It is a scan-, dalous shame that a young country liko New Zealand should bo a dumping ground for persons suffering with such a dread disease. Hoping you will publish this in your paper,—l am etc., NATIVE. . Palmerstou North, July 13. [There is supposed to bo an inspection of passengers of incoming vessels which should prevent the state of things complained of by our correspondent.]
