LACROSSE AS IT SHOULD NOT BE PLAYED.

Sir,—While watching the game of lacrosse on Saturday at tlio Basin Koserve, I was surprised to note the display .of temper.by some of the players. Tho referee evidently has his hands *f uK, and I heard him administer m caution b one player who questioned tho official's decision'in respect of two goals that were scored against his side; and considering that his team had established a comfortable lead I do not think his conduct was altogether sportsmanlike. I was always under tho impression that lacrosse was a gentleman's- game, but if Saturday's exhibition of play is any criterion I don't think the game will becomo popular in this country. I should recommend goal nets to lacrosse players; this would aid tho referee, and prevent a recurrence of Saturday's performance.—l am, etc., A SPECTATOR. ——\
