THE RECENT FIRE BRIGADE DISPLAY.
Sir,—Councillor • Ballanger, chairman of the Fire Brigade Committee, has been thoughtful enough to forward a letter to the superintendent, Mr. O'Brien, expressing the entire satisfaction of the Fire Brigade Committee for tho excellent display given by the members of the brigade before the members of the Municipal Conference, and . complimenting the superintendent on the condition of the plant anil the training of the men and horses, which is-well deserved (this notice appearing in this morning's paper).- But, sir, I don't think .it would have been out of place had Councillor Ballinger made some slight reference to the ability displayed by the deputy-superintendent upon the. occasion. He appears to 'be a most capable and. painstaking officer, by whom I learh, the' men are and have been drilled for a number of years.— I am, etc., COMME IL FAtTT. July 12, 1910. [No doubt Councillor Ballinger's commendation was meant to apply to the whole of the brigade, not merely to the superintendent.]
