EVOLUTION AND RATIONALISM.
Sir, —Mr. M'Cabe's visit has raised questions which should bo publicly debated everywhere. Until both sides are heard wo shall not bo in a position to form correct views on the very important and difficult subjects Mr. M'Cabo has brought before us. I therefore suggest that the evolutionists and secularists call a meeting with the object of making arrangements for public discussion. If well advertised tho meeting' would be attended by many intelligent people, who_ do not 'believe in the evolution theories, and also by some very capable opponents of rationalism who are desirous of full debate. I would also suggest that. the Town Hall, be placed at the disposal of a Public Debate Committee as a free forum, and that they should arrange for weekly debates of social, political, aud religious subjects.—l am, etc.; EDWAED C. EVANS.
