— fr— KEINSULATION CONTRACT. A contract has been lot to Messrs. J. J. Niven awl Co.,- of Napier, for the complete repairs to the freezing machinery anil insulated space of the Tyser steamer Indradevi, which was seriously damaged by fire at Auckland last month. The contract price is <£8000, and the work is to be completed within*a month. The work has been made urgent by reason of tho fact that there is great demand for freezing space at Australian ports.. To enable the work to bo carried out expeditiously, Messrs. Niven and Co. forwarded fifty men on Tuesday from their works in Napier,' and operations were comlnnneed 011 tho steamer at Wellington on Wednesday, and will bo continued night and day until completion. Electric light has been installed to assist the task of tlie contractors' men. Tho Indradevi left Wellington yesterday morning for Lyttelton' and Dunedin.
