Wet weather at Napier has interfered with the discharee of the Nairnshire, from Liverpool, and the vessel is not now expected to reach Wellington until Monday next. TONGARIRO, AT PLYMOUTH. A cable received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the R.M.S. Tongariro, which left Wellington for Plymouth and Loudon on June 1. arrived at her destination on Monday last, July 11. WAKANUI REPLACES AOTEA. Advice came to hand yesterday to the effect that the Wakanui is to take the Aotea's loading in the Now Zealand Shipping Company's Eastern Canadian service. The Wakauui left Cardiff for Montreal on July 9, and should clear Montreal for Australian and New Zealand ports some time next week. TAKAPUNA WITHDRAWS. Overhaul to the Northern Steamship Company's Rarawa. is now practically completed, and she is to resume running this week. The Takapuna, which has been relieving the Rarawa in the OnehungaNcw Plymouth service, will leave Onehunga to-morrow night for Wellington direct, and on arrival at this port will be laid np indefinitely. MISHAP TO THE STORM. Tho Canterbury Shipping Company's s.s. Storm, bound for Wellington and Wanganui with produce from the Bluff, met with a mishap to her engines when leaving the last-named port on Monday morning, and had to be towed back to the wharf. As a result of the accident it is expected that tlie little steamer- will be delayed a day or two until repairs are effected. Departure of the Mimiro for London has been postponed until to-morrow. Mr. C. B. Wheeler, late of the Te Anau, is now purser of. the Koonya. The I'ukaki was expected to leave Greymouth late last night with a cargo of coal for Wellington and Lyttelton. It is expected that the Government steamer Uinemoa/ will leave Bluff early next week for Macquarric Islands. To-day the Anchor Shipping Company's Kennedy is to sail for Nelson and West Coast. She will be followed by the Kaitoa, due from Greymouth to-morrow. Captain Bower, late of the Wakanui, is now in command of tho Paparoa. and Captain Makepeace, late chief officer of the Paparoa, has been promoted to the command of the Wakanui. Mr. J. Bruce, second officer of tho Rakanoa, went ashore at Duncdin on sick icavc, and his place has been filled by Mr. Graham, late acting-second of the Navua, Captain Worrall and the second, third, and fourth officers of the Moanu transferred to the Monowai for the trip to Melbourne and back. Captain J. Robertson and Mr. Frost, second of the Monowai, transfer to the Navua. Reports from Auckland state that the lengthening of the Northern Company's steamer Claymore has been completed at J Auckland. The work was carried out well within contract time by Messrs. G, k Frascr and Sons, who have still some deck work to complete. It is expected that the Claymore will be placed in commission again in about three weeks' time. The splicing, which has been made aft the bridge, provides another hold for the carrying of cargo, and the nettor (r:ni which the vessel now has is expected to *nsure au increase, of speed. '
The Tyser liner Tndradevi is to sail from the Taranaki Street Wharf for Lyttelton at daylight this'morning. Information was received in Auckland on' Monday that Captain W. J. I'aino and crew, of the schooner Saucy Kate, which sank off the Big Nolsies on Saturday night, were atlll standing by the vessel in the hope of saving her. Captain Brown, of the cutter Lee. and party left for the/ Bis; Noisies on Monday morning in aa oil launch, taking provisions for the shipwrecked crew and also salvage gear. An attempt will be made to refloat the Saucy Kate.
