The Porte is satisfied with the energy shown by the Powers in connection with the situation in Crete. It has transpired that Greece counselled the Cretans to show moderation at tho instance of tho Powers, and did not intervene on her own initiative as tho Turks had supposed. SUBMISSION ANNOUNCED. Canea, July 12. The Cretan Government announces its submission to the Protecting Powers.
