The lire brigade were called out, yesterday morning to suppress a fire' in a nine-roomed hotiso in Taranaki Streetabove the Wesley Church—occupied by Mr. Wm. Fitzgerald, and owned by the Anglican Church Trustees. ■ Tho : lire was caused through'a curtain catching alight, and some . paper on .tho wall was damaged before the. flames we're extinguished. Tho . contents were insured in the Commercial ; Union office for £100, arid there was also, an insurance on tho property.'
