The Drake belongs to the hostile fleet, which is endeavouring to land on the north-west coast of Ireland.
King George will visit Portsmouth at the conclusion of the manoeuvres.
CANADIAN CROP PROSPECTS.
(Rcc. July 12, 10.10 p.m.) Ottawa, July ,12. The crop reports from the Canadian prairie provinces state that the position has improved. The indications are that the wheat harvest will be smaller than that of last season.
EXTENSIVE REPAIRS.
Sydney, July 12. The French gun vessel Kersaint, 1223 tons displacement, has arrived from Noumea to undergo general repairs, which are estimated to cost £20,000.
KING AT' ALDERSHOT.
London, July 11. The King and Queen are at Aldershot for a week. The King is watching the troops training. There will be no ceremonial parades. , .
DIAMOND SMUGGLING DENIED.
Berlin, July 12. The story of the diamond smuggling in Damaraland, 'reported yesterday, has been officially denied.

London, July 11. The High Commissioner 'for Australia (Sir George lleid.) attended, a civic banquet at Bradford, Yorkshire. During a speech, Sir George,, referring to trade matters, said that the more other countries closed their markets against Great Britain the more she thrived. She had a magnificent knack of'minding her own business, and she was not to bo beaten.

Sydney, July 12. Last night a man entered an Italian fruiterer's shop in the hcarj: of the city and presented a revolver at the -shopkeeper. The man then emptied the till, securing several pounds, and decamped.
