Mr. Wilbecfoss said ho hoped, if Synod passed these resolutions, the trustees would give eneot to them. It was entirely in their hands. The accounts as now issued did not convey, the information to which every church member in tho province had a right. The resolution was adopted. CHURCH ALMANAC, It was agreed, on the motion of the Rev. K W. J. iU'Conncl:—"That a committee be set up to discus* ,i- advisability of publishing a diocesan church almanac, with power to act; such committee to consist of the Uevs. Jl. H. Hobday, G. 13. Archdeacon 'Harper Mid tho General Synod had asked tho j'rimaio anil Bishops to take what action they thought (it in order to givo effect to the resolution it had passed at tho beginning of tho present year. His intention, in moving this resolution was simply to ensure that in tho event of niiy necessity arising a body should l>3 in existence empowered to take action. The Kev. .1. Walker moved, as an amendment. Unit Ihc words "rolisimw instruction" bo substituted for "Bible teaching," Archdeacon Harper objected to the amendment. Ho could see no difference between the terms, but "Bibln teaching" whs customarily used, and should bo allowed 'co stond.
Tho ]\'<?x. .1. Walker raid ho understood the General Synod desired that in additioii to instruction by teachers there should bo teaching by the clergy of the different denominations.
Archdeacon Fancourt said Bible t'eaehiiiß was generally considered to be eijiuvalent to Bible reading. Ho thought they should use the fame phraseology as tho General Synod.
The Bishop said that in tho resolution passed earlier in the year the term "religious instruction" wag employed. If this resolution was intended to carry nn tho work of last year it Ewmetl right that tlio same u-ords should be used.
Tho amendment was agreed to, and the amended motion was carried.
IMMIGRATION. It was agreed, on 'the -motion of the ftev. R. TJ. Hobday:-"That tin's Synod welcomes.the formation of tho Wellington Church .Immigration '.Society, and ccmliftlJy commends tlio society to the interest mid support of the. clergy and laity of cllo diocese/' RETURNS.
