THE MONET MARKET. The London money market is very much easier, especially for call money, the rate for which is now IS per cent. The discount rate ia lower in Lundon. Paris, ami Berlin, and the ficrures of the Bank of England show that the position now is extremely satisfactory. This easircss ohould continue until, say, about the first week in September, when the auti-nin dc inands may, probably will, affect the situation. The position depends a eood I (leal upon the state of affairs in the United States; with the 'decline in thp price of wheat the Americans will not he able to draw finite so innc'i as in mv* vioiis years. Furthermore, there is a probability tliat cotton inav lie lower in which case the demands will bo further restricted. A eood deal denendr. mi-ni <. .- ability of America to sell securities in Europe. Somcthins hac been done in this respect already, but a erent ilea! remains to be done. The immediate future looks satisfactory for the money market.
