BILLIARDS.
Mr. J. W. Rend, champion cueist of the Dominion; played in Waitara last Friday night and continued in good form. Giving 100 in 750 to tho local crack, he won by G9. His best breaks were 137, 117, 72, 61, 56, 51, Ji), and 12. Mr. lfcad plays at Stratford on Monday and Tuesday, Mawcra on Wednesday, and Wanganui on Thursday.
Mr. A. E. Williams, the English billiardist, who has been playing a series of matches in Australia, is now at Eotorua. He U expected to arrive in Wellington, when in all probability he will give a few exhibition displays of his skill.
