Susau M'Laughlin, charged with uDing an idle and disorderly person, haviug iusufliciciit means of support, was sent to . gaol for throe months. William Vincent was remanded to appear at Cliristchurch on July 11, on ;l , charge of unlawfully escaping from the Samaritan Inebriates'. Home Tho case against William" Hill of alleged theft of a milk-can, valued at 13s. 6d., tho property of Daniel liayanagli, was adjourned until July 15. -I'or .violating the traffic . regulations oil the Thorndon Railway Station, Joseph Spence was ordered to pay 9s. costs, and for. driving a carriage without a license Clarence Smith and Reginald Welshy were each ordered to pay 7s. costs.

The following • were convicted and fined for allowing stock to wander:— R. Baylisj 'William Brown, and Richard P. Greville, os.,'and 7s. costs-; Cecil Graham, Robert Hare, Murdoch M'Lennan, and Donald Naughton, 10s., and 7s. costs.

The ease against Robert Fletcher, of using improper language in Little Tarnnaki Street, was adjourned to July 11. Alfred Gcorgo Sutton was iinccL os. for drunkenness, and for refusing t.o leave licensed premises (Duke of Edinburgh Hotel) when requested to do so was filled £1. The options were 24 hours' imprisonment for the former offence, and seven days' for the latter.

For the other two offences tho prisoner: was sent to gaol for seven days, sentences to bo concurrent.

Sarah Elizabeth Winter, who was charged with disorderly behaviour, and who had been remacded for curative treatment, rendered necessary by the excessive use of liquor, was convicted and discharged. Laura Fanny Garner, previously convicted of, insobriety. was fined 105.,. or 48 hours'' imprisonment, and, for procuring liquor froni some person or persons unknown during the currency of a prohibition order, was fined £1, in default seven days' imprisonment. Aunio Winifred Dunn, also previously convicted for insobriety, was fined os., with the option of 48 hours' imprisonment. • .

For insobriety, .Walter Carrick was fined; ufil.,or. seven ',days' imprisonment, - was convicted and discharged,' one on'bail was fined 10s., with the option of 24 hours, and another was penalised to tho extent of 55., in default 24 hours.
