Messrs. Bennett and Sutton, general ironmongers, whoso premises are reproduced in this issue, commenced business in December, 1905, having bought out Mr. F. J. The London buyers are Messrs. Willis, Sin-i dall, and Co., 4 Lloyd Avenue. • Some idea, of tho size and importance of the. business may be gained from a description of the premises. The retail shop in High Street has a frontage, of 89ft. by 40ft. The N,olson Street brick store is 50ft. by 45ft. Between these, there is being erected in concrete another bulk store, 65ft. by 65ft. AY,hen this building is completed, tho'. firm's premises will extend from Higli Street to Nelson Street, a distance of 350ft-. ■ The firm also has a store for explosives just outside the borough boundary. A recent departure by the firm is a special'wallpaper room, 32ft. by 18ft., with a- AA'underlich steel ceiling, and carrying a stock of 12,000 rolls of paper, all racked, and showing the latest pat-tern, from the sixpenny editions to, tho fine ingrained quality at four shillings and. sixpence. General household and builders' ironmongery : Orates, tiles, mantelpieces, lamps, Steel and leather travelling trunks, Gladstone brief and kit bags, tennis, golf, and croquet material, hasketware, electroplate and solid silver ware, farm, and' garden tools, carpenters' and engineers' tools. Following is a list of the firm's sole district agencics:—Booth, Jlacdonald, and Co., Star windmills, general farm implements, Pitt oil engines, Dominion milking machines ;• Massey-Harris Co., harvesting machinery, general farm implements; Nicholl Brothers, "Orb" ranges; Donald, Donald, and Sons, woolpresses, wire strainers, stumping jacks; Cyclone Wiro Fence and Gate Company, farm gates, slice)) and pig netting,' fencing wrappers, Wilson Cement Co., Ltd., Star brand cement, hydraulic lime, etc.; L. Bergei'iand Co., B.P. house paint; Wunderlieh Company. steel ceilings; Alliance Box Comllanyj boo hives and beekeepers' requisites. Imperial Crown galvanised roofing iron. This brand of iron was used oifthe Winter Show building.
