BANK BURGLAR.
EXCITED NEIGHBOUR SHOOTS THE CONSTABLE. By Telegraph—Preen Association—Copyright, Sydney, July 7. An official of the Bank of Australia last night discovered a man attempting to enter tho bank premises by a side window. He called for help. A, neighbour rushed up, and Constable Dowling also appeared. The neighbour, mistaking the constable for the burglar, fired a revolver. The bullet struck Constable Dowling over tho breast, but a pocket-book saved him from serious injury. . The burglar escaped.
