Air. Hogg wishes to know from tho Minister for Agriculture whothor his attention has been called to tho injustice suffered by breeders of stock in Great Britain and Now Zealand, owing to stud or sheop intended for

show purposes being prohibited under any circumstances from being landed alive in Great Britain, thereby preventing breeders from, improving their flocks by tho introduction of fresh, blood, and if ho will endeavour to have tho restriction removed. Mr. Newman will ask tho Government whether, in tho interests of the sottlers up tlio Wanganui River, they will inquire as to tlio rates of freights on tho river steamers, and, if found to he excessive, will endeavour to havo them reduced, so that they may ceaso to be prohibitive, as is reported to havo boon stated by Air. James Mackenzie (Commissioner) at the last meeting of the Wellington Land Board; and also whether' they will havo the road construction work pushed on in that dis-. trict, in order that tho settlors referred to may havo access to tho railway.
