TOWED TO SYDNEY.
ACCIDENT TO THE WHANGAPE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. July 4, 12.40 a.m.) Sydney, July 3. Tho steamer Whangape, bound to Newcastle to load for New Zealand, lost her propeller while off Broken Bay at two o'clock this morning, and was in danger of being blown to sea. A heavy westerly wind was blowing. Signals of distress were observed by tho steamer Newcastle, which succeeded in getting a towlino aboard and towed tho Whangape to Sydney. [The Whangape, 2931 tons, Captain Crawford, left Westport for Sydney with coal on Monday, June 20.]
