FORWARD STEP IN SCOTLAND.
There has just been issued to members of the Church of Scotland and tinted Free Church Assemblies, the report of the joint sub-committee of the committees appointed at last year's General Assembles to consider tlic obstacles to -union of these Churches. The
report lias bc-en approved by the principal committee of each Church. The report of the joint sub-committee, which was adopted by the conference, states that seven meetings hare been held, and that hopeful progress has been made 111 the direction of agreement.
