ANGLICAN GENERAL MISSION.
• « Referring to the Anglican General Mission, to bo held in New Zealand in September, the "Church Family Nowspaper" says: "The scheme i 6 fraught with such mighty possibilities that it may bo of special interest to trace the genesis of tho movement and to, state briefly what has already been done. The proposal that » mission should be conducted in New Zealand by clergymen from tho Home country emanated from the NewZealand Church. A letter was sent jointly to the Archbishops of Canterbury aud York, who, after consultation with some of the Homo leaders, accepted tho invitation, and a reply was sent signed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Archbishop of York, tho Primate of the Church of Ireland, and tho Primate of tho Scottish Church. A representative committee fit' mission experts was formed, with Bishop Montgomery as chairman: tho other members being Canon E A Stuart, Canon Ilody, Canon Aitken' C:inon WiUpole, Dr. A. W. Robinson, and tho Rev. Harold Anson, who was for several years in New Zealand, was appointed lion, secretary "Wo heartily commciid the mission to tho prayers of Church people all over tlie world, it is finite impossible to estimate the results of such a wonderful venture of faith not only to the Church in the Dominion, but indirectly to the mother Church at Homo Nothing is inoro calculated to knit together in an indissoluble bond of union the aged yet ever vigorous 'mother,' with centuries of history and experience behind her, and the young 'daughter,' face to face with many problems and difficulties which she is meeting with faith courage, and boldness." '
