A SUCCESSFUL AUCTION. Messrs. Dalcety and Company, Limited, report having held what must be considerod one of the most successful Bales of dairy stock ever held in the Tiorowhenua district, when they disposed of the whole of Messrs. Newport, Bros.' herd of daiiy cows, etc. Buyers were present in full force, and, for any younu cow showing a strain of Jersey, very keen eompciyii existed, all the hlcrher-nriced animals being knocked down to a buyer horn Taihaue. Some of the trices realised were as folfow:—Young cows. Jersey (trains. £8 10s., £8 17s. 6d., £9. £9 17s. Gd., £10 65., £11. £11 12s. 6d., £12 155.. £13. £14 55.; others, £6, £6 55.. £6 155., £7 55., 07 10s. 6d., £7 155., £8. £8 7s. 6d.; older 'oris, £4 10s., £4 17s. 6d., £5 55., £5 10s., £5 12s. 6d„ £5 155.: yeariings, Jersey cross heifers, £2 155.: acred Jersey bull. £8; sows, £3 fca.. £3 95., £3 145.; .vountr Die:?, 13s. 6d. Hay, oats, carrots, implements, tools, cans, and sundries all sold at iilshly satislactory prices.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— At our Palmerston salo yesterday thero was only a small entry of stock, "which were rather dull of sale, and several linen were passed. Cattle, however, attain mot with a. good demand. Threu and a, halfvear bullocks, £6 65.; fat and forward bullocks, to £7 155.; cull hoggets, ss. 3d.; wether Hoggets, small, 9s. 3d.; mixed-age breeding ewes, to 10s. 6d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Palmerston branch) report: - During the week we have held sales at Itaumai and Palmerston, and a special sale of dairy heifers at liaumai. In

Jfessrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., re-port:-At our sale at Palmerstou held on Thursday wo hart a large ynrdinc of l)Ot!i sheep and cattle. Sheep of all cln.Tcs met with a. neon demand, and we manured to ouit the whole of the entries, with thu execution of tv:o small pens, on which the vendor's reserve was rather hltrh. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report on their Pahiatua F.A. sale of .lime 28 as follows:—Sheep did not come forward up to advertised numbers, but we had a- cood yarding of good duality ntuff, which sold exceptionally well, and tilery was a decided advance in values. l> ttio were confined to a few peas.
