(By Telegraph.-Prcss Association.) Blenheim, Jims 29. Heavy rain on Mondav and Tuesday caused a big flood in the'Pelorus Valley. There was considerable loss of stock. The steamer Wootton, in endeavouring to make Blackball, was caught by the current ana collided with the schooner Falcon, damaging the latter to the extent Of efcoO. The Alfred Creek bridge in the Jiai Valley has been washed away and the coach service between Blenheim and Nelson is interrupted. The weather now shows signs of clearing. Ituin, in the Wuivau Valley -called the rivers to rise, but they did not overflow tho banks. The floods washed away portions of hvo bridges over the Pclonis River on Brownlee and Company's tramline, which is covered with debris. It will probably be nearly a month before the Browiilees are able to resume snwmilling.
