MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

The Missions to Seamen Institute was crowded last evening, when an enjoyable concert was provided by the pupils of the Wellington Girls' College, under the direction of Miss Newman, in the absence of Miss M'Lean, the principal. Mr. James Moore, the missionor, occupied the chair. The following contributed items to the programme:—Pianoforte duet, Misses Dall and Edmondson; club drill, Misses D. Dement, I. Webb, and G. Wilson; song, Miss Newman; recitation. Miss E. Cattoll; song, Miss Ward; pianoforte duet, Misses Dall and 11. Edmondson; ball-swinging, Miss E. Burr; humorous story, Mr. Smith (Star of Canada). The party sang several delightful choruses; Miss Dall playing the accompaniments. The audience sang popular choruses, and a most amusing conundrum competition was held, and won by sailors from ships in port. During a sliort interval the missioncr delivered an earnest temperance address, and nine men subsequently tool; tho pledge of total abstinence. The performers were accorded a hearty vote ot thanks at the conclusion, and light refreshments were dispensed.
