Middlemoro, Unionist member for Birmingham North, said the Government was at present maintaining moro than sufficient battleships under tho two-Power standard, and that under tho present building programme it was intended to keep pace with the building of foreign ships.

CORDITE SUPPLIES. INSUFFICIENT STOCKS ALLEGED. London, June 28. Mr. Arthur Chamberlain, brother of Mr. Joseph Chamberlain, and chairman of Kynoch's, ammunition manufacturers, alleges that the Government magazines arc not sufficiently full of cordite for tho safety of the country. [Speaking in Parliament last year Mr. M'Kenua, First Lord of the Admiralty, stated in reply to a question that the supplies of cordite had been suspended for a period in 15)07-8, but since then the deficiency in the stores had been fully mado good.]
