"A WEST COAST EPIDEMIC. It has been reported to the Hon. £, E. Guinness that a severe epidemic ha) occurred amongst horses in the Greymonth district. Ho was asked to interview the Hon. T. Mackenzie (Minister for Agriculture) with a view of having a duly qualified veterinary surgeon sent to Grevmouth at once. In reply to hu representations, Mr. Mackonsie states that instructions have been given for a veterinary surgeon to proceed at once from Christchurch to Grevmouth. It is understood that the ailment from which tho auimals are suffering is influenza.
