CIVIL SERVICE ASSOCIATION.
« : A general meeting of Iho ■Wellington branch uf tho Now Zealand Civil Service Association was held lost evening, Mr. J. V. Collins being in the eliair. The meeting unanimously endorsed the following resolution o£ the -Executive Council:"That the I'rimo Minister be urged to introduce the classification..scheme during the. coming session, also that the previous remit concerning an appeal board be again brought before him." Speakers were unanimous in the view that special efforts should be made to induce the I'riine Minister to proceed with the classification of the service. The previous remit advocating an appeal board reads: "That there 1)? an appeal board consisting of a judge of the Supreme Court or . Court of Arbitration, one' nominee of the Government, to tie the head of the Department concerned, and one elected representative- of the Department to which the-appellant belongs, such elective representative to hold office for threo years. That the fuuiins of the appeal board shall Iμ final." The following committee was elected for the ensuing year:—Messrs. H. .1. Bitrr, R. A. Bnltand, T. Crredon, .(. \\. i Collins. G. A. Cormnct. W.
