Growing Association, a body formed by the Lancashire producers with a, view to developing fresh fields of supply, havo reported on a samplo of cotton grown at Walgott, a district in New South Wales, ■17fi niilns north-west nf Sydney. The exports consider the sample a gnnd middling quality, of good colour and strong staple. They plaeo it.s value at SJd. a pound, which is one-third of a penny above American, cotton of the same class. The British Cotton-Qrowing Association has a capital of something like .£300,000, subscribed for the purpose of developing new fields. It has been operating principally in Uganda and other parts of Africa.
