IN NEED OF IMPROVEMENT.

THE WINTER SHOW. It was noticeable last week that there aro respects in which the big winter show at Pahnerston North could be much improved. When performing the official opening, -Air. D. Buick, M.P., said that hefore the next show the association would need 20,000 feet more space in order to avoid having to turn away intending exhibitors; and at the smol;o concert Air. J. G. Harkiiess (secretary of the National Dairy Association) contended that the butter and the- cheese could have been shown to greater advantage. Mr. Harkuess was right, and probably Mr. Buick was too. The cheese was stacked very unattractively, and that may have been on account of space pressure. If so, there is another reason why more room is required. Further, tho ticketing of the exhibits would have been improved had fairly full particulars been attached. It does not please people to force them to refer to catalogues for much information, and tho necessity of searching a booklet causes delay, and consequently congestion in the aisles. For some time one of tho enthusiasts of the association has been anxious to have recording turnstiles installed, so that tho number' of those who patronise the fixtures :inay bo readily available. Besides being interesting such an innovation would bo useful, as n more exact record would '. be secured. It is likely that if members desire to see improvements and enlargements made they will have tho matters discussed as soon as possible. The association has ample ground space, and, if it is prepared to spend the money, the erection of additions will probably be undertaken.
