Memorial to Mr. Alfred Dampier.
The lato Mr. Alfred Dampier's name is green in the memory of Australian playgoers, and on that account a proposal which has been made to erect a memorial over his gravo in AVavcrloy Cemetery should receive ready support. Mr. Dampier was not only a 'fine actor, hut a man universally beloved. He did much for Australian national sentiment by presenting Australian life on tho stage, and his impersonations are well remembered as those of a conscientious, enthusiastic actor. Tho movement to honour tho memory of this charming man will doubtless find widespread response. Subscriptions will bo received by Mr. E. G. N. Gibbcs, care of Mr. William Macleod, the "Bullotin".. office, Sydney. Note. Frank Gerald is expected to arrive in Melbourne this week in order to take part in tho coming production of Nat Gould's sporting drama, i"The Chance of a Lifetime," secured by Mr. William Anderson when in London last year. _ It 'will probably bo staged at the King's Theatro at Grand National time'.
