In the case of John William Goldfinch, charged with criminal assault, the jury failed to agree. A new trial was ordered. ~ l ' ' , '■ SUDDEN DEATH AT KONINI. Pahlatua, June 24. Walter Elley, aged twenty, a single man, employed on Warren Brothers' farm at Konini, died suddenly yesterday. He had dinner at the homestead the previous night, and appeared to be in his usual state. Yesterday morning Warren went to his whare and found him lying on the floor breathing heavily. Elley was placed on the bed and died a quarter of an hour later. He had complained the day before of feeling unwell.
